My Austin Texas Chiropractic office along with my office in Costa Rica have over 21 years working with children of all ages with Chiropractic care. My recommendation would be to bring your child into a Chiropractors office for exams and most likely Chiropractic adjustments. By committing to regular Chiropractic care for your child at an early age, you set the stage for a healthier spine and nervous system. Chiropractors have been adjusting children for over a 100 year. The testimonials and the results are stunning. Children under Chiropractic care have less health issues such as irritability, headaches, asthma and bed wetting. Just like taking your child to a Dentist, to prevent problems, you want a Chiropractor to exam the health and status of your child’s spine.
My office has seen this “Text-Neck” on many children and their x-ray findings. When they hold their devise too low the bones in their neck, the cervical spine, begin to lock up. Then the muscles become stressed and soon after the nerves, ligaments and discs become affected. This unnatural posture over long periods of time on a developing child’s spine will have long term affects. Look at your child while they are on the computer as see if their head is to foreword, if their shoulders are hunched, is their chin sticking out, are their legs crossed or are they sitting with uneven hips. Also pay attention especially if they begin to complain about wrist pain or any carpal tunnel symptoms. Dr. James Lee spends a lot of his spare time talking with parents and teachers about the importance of spinal health in our children.
The spine is a blue print of our childhood. All of our falls and accidents are imprinted into our skeleton structure. When we fall down or have an accident as a growing child, the structure, our bones are directly affected. Any impact is imprinted into our structure. The bones are foundation in our bodies that absord the impacts due to their nature.
